Dates for the Next TOKYO GAME SHOW 2027 Also Decided!

The Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (abbreviation: CESA; Chairman: Haruhiro Tsujimoto) has canceled the on-site event at Makuhari Messe scheduled for Monday, September 21 (national holiday), the fifth day of TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026 (hereinafter, TGS2026), for the entire day due to the approach of Typhoon No. 25, giving top priority to the safety of visitors, exhibitors and all parties involved, including during their travel to and from the venue. The total number of visitors to TGS2026, held at Makuhari Messe and TKP Tokyo Bay Makuhari Hall over the four days from Thursday, September 17 to Sunday, September 20, was 257,642.

Tomorrow, the official programs that can be conducted safely without visitors attending will be streamed as scheduled. In addition to the official programs and streaming content scheduled for the Event Stage on that day, some exhibitors are scheduled to conduct their own online streams. Streaming schedules and details for each exhibitor, including archived streams, will be released in sequence on the official TGS website and other channels, so please check regularly.

Number of Visitors by Day

TGS2026, marking its 30th anniversary and held under the theme “The Longest Ever, Five Days Full of Play,” featured 1,138 companies and organizations from 53 countries and regions, surpassing last year’s record. At the Makuhari Messe venue, new titles for a wide variety of platforms, from home game consoles to smart devices, PCs and VR, were unveiled. In addition, numerous related products and services reflecting the further expansion of the game industry, cutting-edge solutions, and limited-edition merchandise were exhibited.

The Event Stage in Hall 1 also presented a wide range of engaging content, including the “Keynote Speech” and the “Japan Game Awards 2026 Future Division Announcement and Award Ceremony,” as well as the “30th Anniversary Title Talk Stage,” to which producers of game titles also celebrating their 30th anniversary were invited to commemorate TGS’s 30th anniversary. Business meetings were also actively conducted, with a record-high 3,673 meetings using the “TGS Business Matching System.” Online, 25 official programs were streamed. In addition to streaming via the official TGS accounts on YouTube, X, Twitch and other services, and platforms such as Niconico, the programs were streamed in cooperation with DouYu and bilibili for China, and IGN for Europe and North America.

Former losers rise again. Former winners stand in their way again. To surpass “who they were back then.” Some of the most exciting and tense “classic matches” in the history of the Street Fighter competitive scene will be reenacted in Street Fighter 6. Eight top players will participate. An invitation-only exhibition match event will be held, with all four matches featuring pairings with a history of rivalry.
